With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble I will deliver him, and honour him. You shall tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shall you trample under feet.īecause he has set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he has known my name. They shall bear you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone. Therefore shall no evil befall you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling.įor he shall give his angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. Only with your eyes shall you behold and see the reward of the wicked.īecause you have made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, your habitation Nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday.Ī thousand shall fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand but it shall not come near you. You shall not be afraid for the terror by night nor for the arrow that flies by day He shall cover you with his feathers, and under his wings shall you trust: his truth shall be your shield and buckler. Surely he shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God in him will I trust. He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:11 declares "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways". Step back from trying to sort out the storms and situations, and instead come and rest under the shadow of His wings. When Jesus was faced with a storm, He declared peace to it and lay down sleeping. Abiding in His presence is where we find peace from the storms of life. The safest place to be is in the shadow of the Lord. He promises that no one can snatch us out of His hand. God's shield of protection surrounds and covers us from any threat of the enemy. His protection is more than enough His safety is more than enough. We are hidden in the shadow of His wings. Because we are hidden in Christ, we have no reason to fear or to be anxious. Psalm 91 is a beautiful Psalm describing the security and protection we have in God. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Psalm 91 And The Meaning of It Psalm 91 Commentary
